Regular Town Board Meeting – Monday, April 14, 2008 – 7:30 pm – Linn Town Hall
Chairman Bollweg called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. Present at roll call were Chairman Bollweg, Supervisors Weiss, Palmer, Allis, Holden, Clerk Polyock and Atty. Schiltz. There were fourteen (14) citizens present.
Brian Smetana, Sr. Rural Technician Walworth County, gave a short presentation on nutrient management plan. He stated monitoring can be tough, there is no penalty enforcement, but mainly education. The DNR does the management after 750 dairy cows. He then fielded questions from the Board and those present.
Holden/Palmer motion to approve the minutes of the previous meetings as distributed. Carried without negative vote.
Holden/Allis motion to pay the bills including those distributed tonight. Carried without negative vote.

Plan Commission: Supervisor Weiss reported Martin Vanderstappen appeared before the plan commission for a conditional use to exceed 500 animal units. He pointed out the formula for animal units (640 cattle would equal 697 units). Palmer/Weiss motion to approve the conditional use of Martin Vanderstappen, Jr. for having greater than 500 animal units on a farm as a commercial feedlot. Carried without negative vote.
Protective Services: no meeting Holden/Weiss motion to approve the MABIS Resolution. Carried without negative vote.
Highway Committee: Chairman Bollweg reported the committee had met and opened the truck bids. He stated he would like a decision tabled for one month for clarification. Bollweg/Palmer motion to table the truck bids for one month. Carried without negative vote.
Harbor Commission: no meeting
Buildings & Grounds: no meeting Supervisor Holden reported he will be advertising for bids for electrical in fire storage shed, stairs in Town Hall and salt shed roof.
Public Parks: Bonnie Cornue reported that the Town will be first to have the playground equipment installed. She had a proposal for Tallgrass to burn the piles of brush in the park. This will have to be on next month’s agenda as it is not on agenda.
Geneva Lake Environmental Agency – Palmer reported they had met and are dealing with Lake Geneva Water Commission issues.
Lake Use committee – Chairman Bollweg reported they are trying to get an ordinance that will deal with lake level emergencies that all municipalities can agree upon.
Weiss/Palmer motion to approve the pier application of Cornfed Trust, N1825 Livingston Lane as recommended by the Building Inspector. Carried without negative vote.
Allis/Palmer motion to appoint Mary Kay Ring to the Williams Bay ETZ Board. Carried without negative vote.
The bids for refinancing the general obligation debt were opened.
Holden/Palmer motion to approve Chase Option #1 with Jim Weiss reviewing the option. Carried with Jim Weiss abstaining.
Palmer/Weiss motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
