Welcome to the Town of Linn

About Us

Located about 65 miles northwest of Chicago and 45 miles southwest of Milwaukee, our town is an area of diverse natural beauty. Within its borders lie the north and south shores of Geneva Lake, long considered one of the most important natural resources in southern Wisconsin. Formed about 10,000 years ago, the lake is well known for its deep clear water. The town is characterized by high quality residential lakeshore development adjacent to productive farmland. Small woodlots are scattered throughout the town adding to its scenic value and rural character.

Community Mapping Forum

August 22nd 6:00 p.m.

The Town of Linn will be hosting a Community Mapping Forum on August 22nd (6:00 pm) at the Town Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to provide participants with an opportunity to express their desired futures for the Town via the creation of individual land use maps. The session will utilize a visioning technique known as a 'cognitive mapping'.

Cognitive Mapping is a unique two-part planning process that allows participants to graphically express their desired future onto individual land use maps. The first step involves identifying areas within the Town that hold some importance to each individual. The second phase focuses on the creation of land use maps representing each participant’s vision of the future. Composites are created from these maps to be used to guide the development of the Future Land Use map.

Please join us for this last major public participation session prior to drafting the land use chapter of the comprehensive plan.
